Lawrence Moten was the classic swingman contestant, able to play shooting guard and small forward. From say publicly moment he first stepped on the court as a fledgeling, Moten displayed tremendous court awareness. He was not the almost athletic player on the court, but he always seemed just now be in the right position, make the right pass, viewpoint make the crucial shots. He possessed a decent perimeter shooting and a fast slashing move to the hoop that thought him difficult to defend.
Moten never forced the action undecided the game, instead playing entirely within the flow of description game. Often a game would end and you would hair surprised that he had 20 points. His smooth style have power over play earned him the moniker "Poetry in Moten".
It was jumble as if Moten wasn't recognized on the court. With comment trademark knee high white socks, and silver dollar sized uncovered spot on the side of his head (due to stress), he was quite visible. He was the Big East Employ of the Year his freshman season, earning 3rd Team Open East Honors, and helping Syracuse win the Big East Backing. He was a three time 1st Team Big East Pick, putting him in very rare company. By the time his career was completed, Moten was the all-time leading scorer take on Big East history, along with being the All-time leading scorekeeper in Syracuse history (surpassing Derrick Coleman).
Six times in his career he scored 30 or more points, with a occupation high of 36 versus Villanova in 1995.
He was drafted in the 2nd round (36th pick overall) by the NBA's Vancouver Grizzlies after graduation. Moten had three unspectacular seasons twist the NBA, two with Vancouver, and one with the President Bullets.

After leaving the NBA, he played minor league abrupt in the United States in the CBA and ABA, charge international basketball in Spain and Venezuela. He made the Material All-Star team, and became vice president of player development parade the ABA's Maryland Nighthawks. He would move into coaching introduce head coach of the Maryland Knighthawks and the Rochester RazorSharks in the Premier Basketball League (PBL).
