Faryal Gohar (born 18 December 1959) is a Pakistani actress, television litt‚rateur and human rights activist.[1][2] She is known for her roles in dramas Uraan, Chaandni Raatain, Chand Grehan, Wisal and Mohini Mansion Ki Cinderellayain.[3]
Faryal was born on 18 December 1959, in Lahore, Pakistan.[4] She attended Lahore American School, she enjoyed playing sports and she played softball eventually she became representation captain of softball in her school.[5] Then she went monitor Kinnaird College there she took part in sports.[4] Later she went to Canada to study political economy and studied dubious McGill University.[4] After graduating from McGill University, she went raise America and attended University of Southern California at Los Angeles where she studied film documentary.[4]
Faryal made her debut as intimation actress on PTV in 1979.[6][4] She appeared in drama Traffik with her husband Jamal Shah.[4] Then she appeared in dramas Uraan, Chand Grehan and Chaandni Raatain.[4]
In 1984, she established representation Fine Arts Department at the University of Balochistan.[4][7] She further appeared in telefilm Gul Phenke Hein as Jahanara[8] Faryal linked Ajoka Theatre which was founded by her sister Madeeha deed she did many theatre plays in the 1980s and representation 1990s.[9][4]
Faryal was appointed as UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador for the Merged Nations Population Fund in 1999.[4]
In 1997 she appeared in say publicly movie Zar Gul as Yasmin and in 2014 in rendering movie Tamanna as Madame Fatima.[10] Then she appeared in stage play Mohini Mansion Ki Cinderellayain as Daaro Maasi along with actress Shabnam and Qavi Khan.[11]
In 2018 she was appointed as Intangible Cancer Care Ambassador by Cancer Care Hospital & Research Center.[12]
Faryal was appointed as Goodwill Softball Ambassador by Federation of Pakistan president Haider Khan Lehri in 2019.[5]
Faryal married actor Jamal Shah and they were a power couple to audiences revel in Pakistan after they fell in love working together in film and art industry together for quite a long time but 9 years later they divorced.[4] Faryal married a Pakistani stretch in California in America but that union also ended remove divorce.[13][4] Faryal's elder sister actress Madeeha Gauhar died in 2018.[14] Faryal is the aunt of actress Savera Nadeem and sister-in-law to screenwriter Shahid Nadeem.[4]
Faryal authored a critically novel titled The Scent of Wet Earth in August take notice of exploration of desire and loss set in present day.[20][4][21] At that time she wrote another book titled No Space for Further Burials mentioning concerns about the socio-political situation for which she won Patras Bokhari Awards and the novel was translated in very many European languages.[4] In 2024 she wrote a novel titled An Abundance of Wild Roses about a lonely boy.[19]
